Live In and learn
An enriching overnight program loaded with learning, relaxation, and most importantly - FUN!
Live In and Learn is a drop-off/overnight program that we offer that focuses on training your companion using humane, science-based methods. We will work on whatever is on your learning list as well as anything we see that needs to be addressed first in order to achieve those goals. Our drop-off training program is a wonderful place to socialize new puppies and we believe that training should start immediately to set your new companion up for success.
We do allow play during our training, which is so good for the learning and development of puppies in their prime socialization window! We allow adult dogs to play as well - as long as they are socially suited to do so. All dog-dog interactions are closely supervised by certified training professionals and introductions are taken slowly to ensure the safety and emotional wellbeing of every companion in our care.
We get a lot of questions about what a companion's day might look like while in our care and that greatly varies. Each companion has individual needs socially, physically, and emotionally, and we will use our best judgment to offer activities and training at a pace that is comfortable for your companion. All companions get one-on-one attention on a rotating schedule and we have found that some prefer longer sessions and others thrive with shorter but more frequent sessions on the training floor. How the day is structured depends entirely on your companion's energy level and focus.

Considerations
- Live In and Learn services book quickly, so please contact us as far in advance of your needed dates, as possible.
- We have found that it can take an average of three days for companions to get comfortable enough to take treats while in our care, so we encourage guardians to be mindful of that when requesting Live In and Learn services.
- Additionally, your companion may be hesitant to eat and/or drink and may experience GI upset during transition.
- If you are booking a stay for your companion while you will be out of town, we require a back-up sitter to be available in case of an emergency.
- If you have two companions that you are needing training for, we can only allow one companion at a time into our program. We have found that companions face difficulties focusing when their housemates are in another area of the center, which often results in needing to train in tandem. Training two companions at once is not as effective as addressing the individualized needs of each companion separately.
- None of our programs were designed to assist companions with separation anxiety. Furthermore, we do not recommend any drop-off programs with other facilities who promise to address separation anxiety. We recommend pursuing private, in-home training with a CSAT certified trainer to reduce emotional stress on your companion during the learning process.
